Maturity evaluates the broader operating model (the Service Value System). Capability evaluates how well specific practices are performed.
Depending on the assessment type, you receive detailed reporting on maturity and/or capability levels, plus a clear view of improvement opportunities. Comprehensive assessments also include an official ITIL 4 Maturity Level Certification (valid for one year).
Timing depends on scope and availability of stakeholders. A capability assessment focused on one or two practices can move quickly, while a comprehensive assessment covering SVS and multiple practices will take longer. During scoping, we’ll confirm the expected timeline and working sessions.
The ITIL Maturity Model focuses on capability and ways of working, not technology configuration. That said, tooling often supports or constrains process execution, so it may come up as part of evidence collection and workshops.
