She has worked in the IT field since the mid-1980s and has worked around the world for the last 10 years training executives and operatives in major corporate organizations, financial institutions, and military organizations. "I liked that the training was dynamic – that it went beyond lectures to include hands-on activities and group work to solidify the information our employees received. The best thing about this whole experience has been how the training has transformed us as a company, and we’re still going through that transformation. If I had to rate the experience of working with Beyond20, I’d give them an 11 out of 10. They were invested in our business and what we were trying to do right from the start – and we’ve had great success as a result."
Debbie L., Director of HR
“It was huge for Board of Pensions (BOP) to start speaking the same language, have a common understanding, be equipped to drive culture change, and change everyone’s thinking. Now, the team is creating something together."
Nick , Assistant Director, Service Desk
"Beyond20’s exam pass guarantee certainly appealed to us, but the key was that Beyond20 could deliver a class where our team could see how ITIL works in practice, apply those principles and processes to what we do every day, and achieve immediate results. They’re very reliable in what they deliver. Whatever we’re going to do, we turn to Beyond20 first."
Sal M., IS Services Manager
"One important factor that makes Beyond20 a great organization is that the instructors work as consultants to organizations both in the private and public sector. The instructors have an excellent command of the material and have real-world experience with designing and implementing these principles. With their background, they can adapt discussion to a particular client and help students understand concepts based on how they fit into their organizations.”
Lucinda F., Manager, IT Field Operations
"The instructor knew his stuff! The materials were well designed and the course was well paced and very appropriate for our group."
In this course, you’ll get an in-depth look at the four CompTIA CySA+ domains (Threat Management, Vulnerability Management, Security Architecture & Tool Sets and Cyber- Incident Response) that largely make up the CSO-001 exam.
While there aren’t any prerequisites to take the training course itself, CompTIA CySA+ certification is an intermediate credential for cybersecurity professionals. As a growth path between CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA CASP certification, you’ll need a minimum of 3-4 years of hands-on information security or related experience, such as Network+, Security+ or equivalent knowledge to sit for the exam.
A few days before class, you will receive an email with details on how to access our virtual training room, and physical courseware will be delivered to your shipping address.
Our virtual classes are instructed in a way that mirrors the experience you would get from an in-person course. That way, students remain fully engaged and the information sticks! Our virtual training courses are packed with interactive whiteboards, breakout rooms, virtual sticky note walls, and more to help ensure your success on the exam.
You’ll get a course book, practice exams, and a CompTIA CySA+ certification exam voucher. Of course, your tuition also includes priceless group activities, as well as discussions and bagels.
Short answer: Yes. CySA+ certification will qualify you for IAT Level 2. If you’d like more information on DoD 8570 and the various training options for compliance, check out our DoD 8570 overview.
CompTIA CySA+ certification is geared toward IT professionals interested in Cybersecurity Analyst positions such as IT Security Analysts, Vulnerability Analysts, Threat Intelligence Analysts, Cybersecurity Analysts, Security Operations Center (SOC) Analysts, Cybersecurity Specialists and Security Engineers. That said, it’s a good course for anyone interested in learning more about the four domains, sitting for the CompTIA CySA+ certification exam, and/or satisfying the DoD 8140/8570 training requirements.
The CompTIA CySA+ exam consists of a maximum of 85 multiple choice and performance-based questions, to be completed within 165 minutes. A passing score is 750 or higher (on a scale of 100 – 900). The CompTIA CySA+ certification exam covers behavioral analytics skills such as identifying and combating malware, and advanced persistent threats (APTs) that are visible across an extensive attack surface. It will focus on the four domains:
Threat Management
Vulnerability Management
Security Architecture & Tool Sets
Cyber-Incident Response
You’ll receive an exam voucher from your instructor while you’re in class. You’ll use that voucher to sit for the exam at a PSI testing center. You’ll take the exam on a computer (not paper), and you’ll see immediately whether you passed or failed, though you won’t get your exact score until a week or so later. If you pass, you’ll get instructions on what to do next.
Your CompTIA CySA+ certification is good for three years from the date you pass the exam. You can extend certification in three-year intervals through continuing education or certification-specific activities and training.
This domain focuses on environmental exploration techniques through the use of the most appropriate tools, analyzing results and implementing the recommended action. Our CompTIA CySA+ training covers a wide range of techniques and tools, including security appliances, the logging and analysis of threat management, and reconnaissance techniques.
You’ll learn to implement vulnerability management processes and analyze scan results. This CompTIA CySA+ training session covers key attributes such as managing vulnerabilities, remediating vulnerabilities and ensuring secure software development.
We’ll cover the use of data to recommend reparation of security issues that are related to identity and access management. In addition to recommending an implementation strategy, you’ll participate in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Our CompTIA CySA+ training provides an in-depth look at securing network design, managing identities & access, and security frameworks and policies.
In this domain of the CompTIA CySA+ training, you’ll learn to recognize data threats and determine incident impact. We’ll give you the tools and knowledge needed to prepare a response in the form of a toolkit that consists of appropriate forensics tools, your communication strategy, and best practices. This session covers incident response, forensics tools, and incident analysis & recovery.
